What is Anime? Anime is Japanese animation. It's not like kids stuff here in the US, like stuff you see in Saturday morning cartoons. Animation in Japan is just like TV shows and movies here in the US. BGC 2040 comes on at 1:00 in the morning, so you KNOW this ain't a kids show. :) Unlike American cartoons which have stupid and simple plots, Anime has deep, complicated, and intriguing plots. I, personally, do not like all Anime. I only really like the Sci-Fi Anime such as BGC, Ghost in the Shell, Akira and shows like that. Yes, Pokemon and Sailormoon is gay :)
The year is 2040 (duh) and Tokyo has recovered from a massive destructive earthquake. Rebuilding the city would have only been possible with the help of Boomers (Androids which also have emotion, it seems). The company GENOM, which manufactures Boomers, is very cold and monopolistic. There is a flaw, however with the boomers...they randomly go "berserk" and mutate and go on rampages slaughtering everything in sight.

To combat this, the Japanese government forms the AD POLICE, a counter-boomer special task force. It would seem Genom does not want the boomers to go berserk (it hurts boomer sales), and they don't (for a little while). But then, through some plot twists, end up controlling which Boomers they want to go berserk.
As in most TV shows and movies, the Police aren't very helpful. They basically excel at dying gory deaths at the hands of boomers. Leon and Daily (Daily was gay in the original) are the two main stars of the AD Police. Daily is the thinker (not gay this time), while Leon in the badass who like to shoot stuff ( and get a date with Priss while he's at it, not like that would happen anytime soon).
When he offers to take her to the hospital after she crashes her bike, she says "I wouldn't even get in a hospital bed with you, much less a normal bed..." Most of the comedy comes from Priss and Leon :)

About the Knight Sabers
The Knight Sabers is a a group of mercenaries who fight beserk boomers. There are 4 Knight Sabers, but only 3 are active (Sylia is the manager and overseer now). Macky and Nigel are the males members of the group, but they're mainly support. Even though Priss is a b----, she's arguably the best fighter out of the group. She's the one who usually ends up killing the Boomers. The Knight Sabers group consists of : Sylia Stingray, Priss Asagiri, Linna Yamazaki, and Nene Romanova, Macky Stingray, and Nigel.
We don't know much about Macky yet (I only have 8 episodes), but more should be revealed. He was a big perv in the original 80's BGC. Macky and Nigel share a love for machines, which leads to Sylia going bonkers (she has a lost past, it seems). Hopefully you've gotten a good amount of background info about BGC2040. :)
